You don’t have to hop on a plane or dust off your passport to get in the summer mood – just head down to one of the two Thor’s Tipi locations in York, order a drink and some street food and relax. The perfect (gin and) tonic to the joys of parenting during the longest school holidays.

Thor’s SOL AST will be back in the gardens of The Principal Hotel from Wednesday 1st June (in time for Jubilee celebrations), with feasts by Frango Eduardo. Inspired by Ibiza, there’ll be cabanas, special cocktail menu and a ‘naked tipi’, all in beautiful surroundings. It’s a surprisingly good place to take children during quieter times – a mocktail in the sunshine makes them feel very grown-up.
In the heart of things over on Parliament Street, Thor’s Tipi returns on 24th June with food from YUZU Street Food, York Roast Co and Millers Fish & Chips. There’ll be a new bar with an atrium, and the fire pits will return in the evening, alongside DJ sets and live music. Time to get your calendars out and book in a relaxing summer evening with friends, no passenger locator form required…
