York Explore Summer Reading Challenge (online)

It’s going to be a summer like no other, with most of us spending a lot more time at home than usual, so what better time to get lost in some stories? You might not be able to get on a plane, but your kids can still go on lots of amazing adventures thanks to the Summer Reading Challenge.

This year’s theme is Silly Squad, and it promises plenty of fun, laughter and – of course – silliness. As well as games, quizzes and downloadable activities, there’ll be celebrity draw-alongs from authors and illustrators and silly readings from the likes of David Baddiel, Paul O’Grady and Konnie Huq. The challenge will be launched by Explore York libraries on Friday 10th July, but you can sign up through the Summer Reading Challenge website now. You can even borrow e-books and audiobooks to take part so your kids don’t run out of things to read – there’s no excuse for them to get back on a screen!
