Summer on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway
This summer visit the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and immerse yourselves in a fun-filled adventure, completing the ‘Big 50’ Bucket List of amazing things to see and do! Hop on board the heritage carriages and earn yourselves the accolade of ‘Super Fan!’ In celebration of the NYMR turning 50 years old, they’ve put together a Bucket List of things to see and do to help you explore and learn about this historic railway. They’ve also included some of the best things to do in North Yorkshire. Over the summer, children can earn their very own NYMR Top Fan badge by completing 10 of the Big 50 Summer Bucket List items. Better yet, complete all 50 and become an NYMR Super Fan!
Among the 50 items on the checklist are activities like:
– Visit ‘Hogsmeade’ – aka Goathland Station, which doubled as the train stop for Hogwarts in Harry
Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone film.
– Enjoy traditional fish and chips in Whitby.
– Have a chat with one of the NYMR volunteers – some of them have been with us since the start in 1973 so they have lots of great stories to tell!
Pick up your Big 50 booklet when you collect tickets at the Booking Office, tick off as many of the
Bucket List items as you can over the summer holidays and visit an NYMR Shop to collect your Top
Fan or Super Fan badge. Good Luck & Have Fun!
