Winter woodland walks at Mother Shipton’s
Mother Shipton’s is hosting a gorgeous Winter Woodland Walk for 2020 with lots of festive delights and twinkling lights to see along the way! Santa will be visiting and giving children a special wave from his safe and cozy grotto, and his festive friends are taking up residence in the Christmas Village.
Visitors cannot go inside Santa’s grotto but they can take a photo inside Santa’s sleigh and sit upon the Christmas throne. Don’t forget to bring your letters for Santa to post in the post box!
Stop by the incredible Petrifying Well and see the cave where the famous prophetess Mother Shipton was born. Make a Christmas wish in the wishing well and explore the historic outdoor attraction.
Warm up with refreshments and drinks from the coffee kiosk. The toilets are open and they have picnic benches throughout the attraction. Access to the adventure playground is subject to weather conditions. The museum and gift shop are currently closed. Dogs are welcome everywhere except the adventure playground and must be kept on a lead.
There are three sets of steps in the attraction which are not wheelchair accessible and pushchairs must be parked under the shelter before these steps – they recommend bringing a sling.
Please respect the rule of six, social distancing and local tier restrictions. Mother Shipton’s is in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, which is currently in Tier 2. If you are in a tier 3 area, we would advise you to follow the government guidance regarding travel to tier 1 and 2 areas. It is not our responsibility as the event organiser and venue to police where people are travelling from and it is up to you, the booker to act responsibly.
Please arrive promptly for the start of your booked time slot and leave by the end of your timed session. Free parking for the session time is included with car admission tickets. Please note that parking is for visiting Mother Shipton’s only.
