Gruffalo Spotters Trail at Dalby Forest

A family took a stroll through the deep dark wood and….spotted a Gruffalo! There are a thousand reasons to visit Dalby Forest with kids, from the stunning scenery to trees to climb, an epic adventure playground and cycle trails for all ages. Now there’s another one: The Gruffalo Spotter Trail is back, new and improved.

Based on the much-loved Julia Donaldson book, the Gruffalo Trail uses augmented reality to enable you to interact with the characters as they appear in the forest around you. Say hello to them, take a photo with them and make them part of your trip! Dalby Forest is always one of our top recommendations for a day out: not only is it a great place to escape real life for the day, but it’s free (just pay to park) and there’s plenty to do.

Top tips: Download The Gruffalo Spotter 2 app before you leave home as the signal in the forest can be patchy. Also make sure that your phone is fully charged!
