Description

Barley Hall is one of York's hidden gems, and another great JORVIK Group attraction with plenty of hands-on activities for children. Tucked away down Coffee Yard, it's a stunning medieval townhouse that's been painstakingly restored. Visitors can discover more about Barley Hall's history, seeing how it would have looked as the Snawsell family home around 1483. It's a great way to explore what life would have been like in mediaeval England.

The current exhibition, Mystery and Magic, will appeal to young fans of all things wizarding. Explore the fine line between science, religion and magical in mediaeval society, find out about protective charms and fortune-telling too.
