One of York’s favourite festive destinations is getting even better – and more sparkly – this Christmas, with the arrival of a brand new outdoor ice rink in the heart of Museum Gardens! THOR’S on ICE will open alongside THOR’S tipi, combining delicious drinks, food and live entertainment with one of the most Christmassy of activities: ice skating!
THOR’S on ICE – What to expect

The rink will sit behind York Art Gallery, surrounded by the beautiful ruins of St Mary’s Abbey, which promises to be a spectacular setting for a festive skate. Better still, it will be covered by a clear canopy, so you can enjoy the experience whatever the Yorkshire weather brings!

When do tickets go on sale?
Ticket prices and skating session times haven’t been announced yet, but they’re expected in the coming weeks. We’ll update this page as soon as bookings open, so keep checking back if you’d like to be among the first on the ice. We reckon it’s going to be popular
