Friargate Theatre is York’s "hidden gem” in the heart of York, offering a variety of theatre, comedy and music events throughout the year, as well as a number of theatre courses. As the home of Riding Lights Theatre Company, we produce our own work, as well as touring round the UK and welcoming visiting companies with their own shows to our 96-seat studio theatre. Downstairs we have an accessible rehearsal space and toilet, as well as our own bar and cafe style set up, offering creative spaces for all sorts of groups.
