Your tour will include 10 shows, or 11 during the summer holidays including the new seasonal show Body Snatchers (dig deeper into this article for more information on this!).

The rest of your tour will see you step into one of the earlier York Minster’s, try to survive a Viking invasion, learn about cures for the Black Death, venture into one of York’s most haunted buildings 35 Stonegate, meet Guy Fawkes, be interrogated by the Torturer, be tried under the Bloody Code in the Courtroom, see heads roll at Micklegate Bar, spend a night with the Pocklington witch Isabella Billington before her execution, and see if you can avoid being held up by infamous Highwayman Dick Turpin!

The shows, sets and scripts are refreshed as the years go by so on a return visit there is always something new for you to enjoy, or endure!

Eboracum: Beyond the Veil

The Lost Roman Legion, Hispania, and the story of their disappearance feature in a brand new interactive exhibit in the York Dungeon waiting room, where the shadows of ancient Rome come alive!

This legendary Roman battalion are said to have vanished without a trace. One day the entire legion marched north to conquer the wilds beyond Hadrian’s wall…..and never came back. Until now……

You may get a glimpse into the past…..but who will you discover looking back? Will you uncover the fate of the lost soldiers who marched into the mists of Britain….never to return?

Unearth their chilling story – The Body Snatchers have returned

They’re creeping through the shadows once more….The Body Snatchers are back! This summer, descend into the darkest corners of York’s grim past where the dead didn’t always rest in peace.

In our returning Body Snatchers show, uncover the grisly truth about grave robbing, and come face to face with the scheming resurrectionists who made a deadly living digging up the dead!

Will you survive the night? Or end up six feet under? This new seasonal show is part of all York Dungeon tours daily until the 31st August, and takes place in the Mirror Maze area.
