The Railway Museum has long been a top family-friendly destination in York, but it’s set to get even better with the opening of Wonderlab: The Bramall Gallery this summer. This new interactive experience is specifically aimed at families and tickets are on sale now. Here’s what you need to know about this new and unique attraction in York for kids.
What to expect from Wonderlab
Wonderlab is fully interactive and hands-on. Play your way through 18 mind-bending challenges and fuel children’s curiosity with amazing live experiments. Test your engineering skills as you step into the human wind tunnel, launch a rocket, and build big, then immerse yourself in an explosive live show to reveal the science behind the fun!
Opening times
Wonderlab opens on Thursday 27th July 2023 and will be open during normal opening hours at the Railway Museum.
Wonderlab tickets
About admission – While admission to the Railway Museum itself remains free, there is a charge for tickets to the Wonderlab gallery. You must also book a free museum admission ticket to enter. You need to select a 15-minute time slot for Wonderlab, but once you’re in the gallery there’s no limit on how long you can stay.
Ticket prices – Day tickets for Wonderlab cost from £7.20, with annual passes from £13. Children aged 3 and under go free. If you’re a York resident with a YO postcode you can get a FREE upgrade to an annual pass in person. Find all the details about the York residents’ offer here.
