Homestead Park is a gift to York from the Rowntree family that residents still enjoy today, over a hundred years since it opened, and it's a really lovely place to visit with children. This pretty fourteen-acre park in the Clifton area of York has lots to enjoy, from formal gardens to two play areas, wildflower meadow, pond, rock garden and plenty of open spaces to kick a ball. During the summer there's a pop-up cafe, and there are loos too (very important!). There are picnic benches and a small car park, although you may need to park on the road during busy periods. Check their Facebook page for the current opening hours as they're subject to change.
