Meet Oliver Jeffers at Waterstones York
Come along and meet visual artist and bestselling author Oliver Jeffers as he joins us to sign copies of his new picture book, Where to Hide a Star – a brand-new story featuring his much-loved characters, the boy and the penguin. The new book’s publication will be a pinnacle moment in a year that celebrates the 20th anniversary of Oliver’s debut picture book, when we were first introduced to the boy and the penguin in, How to Catch a Star.

Ticket Price: £14.99, includes entry and a copy of Where to Hide a Star (RRP £14.99) available for collection on the day. Copies of Where to Hide a Star will also be available to purchase from the bookshop on the day, along with a selection of Oliver’s other bestselling books.
Parents accompanying their children do not require a ticket (one accompanying adult per child with ticket.)
Oliver Jeffers is a visual artist and author working in painting, bookmaking, illustration, collage, performance and sculpture. His engagements and practice are truly international in scope. His critically acclaimed picture books have been the recipients of numerous awards, including a New York Times Best Illustrated Children’s Books Award, TIME Best Book of the Year, Bologna Ragazzi Award, an Irish Book Award, a United Kingdom Literary Association Award and two Emmy Awards for the Apple TV adaptation of Here We Are: Notes For Living on Planet Earth. He has exhibited at institutions such as the Brooklyn Museum in New York, the National Portrait Gallery in London, and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. He also recently received a Member of the Order of the British Empire Award (MBE) for his Services in Art.
