Bonfire Night and Fireworks Around York 2026

While we’ll never stop hoping that they’ll one day bring back the massive York bonfire night and firework displays we enjoyed as kids – anyone else remember the sight of fireworks waterfalling down Clifford’s Tower or the massive, free displays on the Knavesmire? – there are still some fun ways to celebrate York’s naughtiest plotter. Whatever you get up to, wrap up warm and stay safe!

Bonfire Night falls on Thursday 5 November 2026, with family-friendly firework displays taking place in and around York during the surrounding weekends. We’re still waiting for several of York’s biggest community displays to announce their plans, but the first events are now confirmed. We’ll keep updating this guide as new dates, tickets and timings are released, so bookmark it and check back soon.
