After the huge sell-out success of the York Proms picnic concert, a brand new Junior Proms picnic concert is coming to York, designed especially for children and their families to enjoy together. Featuring a professional orchestra and special appearances from Jester and Smedley of York Dungeon, the show includes child-friendly classical favourites as well as well-known music from family hits like Harry Potter, Moana and Wicked. Like the main York Proms, it takes place in the stunning surroundings of York Museum Gardens.

The audience will also be treated to a performance of the brand new ‘Song for York’, a major recording project currently being created by school children across the city. Thousands of young voices will come together in a music video, set to be released on World Music Day this June.
The show starts at 2pm, and the gates open at noon. Tickets are on sale now and payments can be made in instalments. Food and drink will be available on the day, but you’re welcome to bring your own picnic to enjoy, too.
