The sun’s back, and so are The York BID’s colourful seating areas and grass animals!
We’re big fans: these spaces are the perfect place for families to relax, sit down with a snack or snap a sunny selfie when York’s brimming with summer visitors. The grass animals are always a big hit with kids (but good luck telling them they can’t climb on them…). This year, there’s a brand-new grass horse seat in Davygate, too, so see if you can spot it.

Also new and coming soon is Tommy Treebark’s Wild Adventure, a free family trail filled with colourful creatures and fun across the city. We’ll bring you news of that as we have it. In the meantime, don’t forget The Little Vikings I Spy Trail, York’s best family-friendly walking trail, recommended by The Sunday Times!
📍You’ll find the grass sculptures at locations including:
• Exhibition Square
• York Museum Gardens
• Duncombe Place
• Dean’s Park
• College Green
• Eye of York
• Davygate
• Barbican
• Peasholme Green
Keep an eye on the Little Vikings website and socials for all the best things coming up in York for kids this season. And don’t forget to sign up to our newsletter too!
