Remember the days when you had to nag, drag or downright bribe your children to go shopping with you? Well, those days are over. When they find out what’s on at York Designer Outlet, they’ll be nagging you to go (and we’re speaking from experience as that’s exactly what happened in our family last summer). Yes, York Designer Outlet’s Great Summer Social is back until 8th September and it’s better than ever. And guess what? Admission and all the games are FREE! Golf clubs, table tennis bats, balls can be collected from customer services next to The Great Summer Social entrance. 

There’s loads to do, from challenging your kids to a round of mini golf on the 9-hole course to shooting some hoops, competing in a table tennis match or having a go at hang time, hoops and crosses or the Olympic ring toss. You’ll find it all in the Great Summer Social area, which is located outside the South Entrance.

We went along a few times last year and loved it. It’s the perfect break from shopping for school shoes, new sports gear or bits and pieces for the summer holidays and it doesn’t cost a penny. Don’t forget that there’s the covered play area at the Outlet, too, as well as lots of tasty options for food and drink, baby changing, miniature push-along cars to hire and loads of parent and child parking bays. Top tip: arrive early for the best parking space and to avoid the crowds, especially at weekends. Another one for your summer holiday bucket list!
