For many families, a visit to see Father Christmas is an essential part of the festivities. Luckily for us, there are plenty of places to meet Santa in and around York, from boats to halls to windmills and even Narnia! Check out our guide to the best grottos in York in 2017. A special visitor is coming to Nunnington Hall. Meet him in his grotto and tell him your Christmas wish.

Take the elves’ gold coin to Santa’s special log cabin grotto at Stockeld Park, where you’ll meet the man himself. It’s part of the Christmas Adventure, with festive fun running from 1st November to 8th January. Don’t miss the ice rink!

Listen to Father Christmas read stories in the library, have a chat and a photograph with him and receive a little gift to put under your tree if you can get it home without opening it first!

You’ll find Father Christmas’s stunning log cabin at the end of the Christmas tree walk, in the shadow of the ice rink at York Designer Outlet. There’s a wrapped gift for every child.

New for 2017, meet Father Christmas in the attic of Treasurer’s House. He’s landed on the rooftops and can’t fit down the chimney, so you’ll have to climb the stairs and find him in the attic for presents and stories.
