Activities just got more exciting for young children in York with the launch of Toddlers World soft play at York Leisure Centre at Monks Cross. After months of delay – thanks to you-know-what – it’s finally up and running and is a fun, active thing to do in York with children from 6 months to pre-school. Sessions currently run three days a week, with plans to add more so keep an eye on the York Leisure Centre website for the latest times and dates. Expect a range of things to clamber on, jump over and crawl across during your one-hour time slot. Here’s what you need to know:
– It’s suitable for 6 months to pre-school (4 years)
– Sessions are 9am to 12 noon Monday, Wednesday and Sunday (but check the website for the current timetable)
– £4.20 per child for one hour (adults are free)
– Book online through the website or Better UK App
We’ve been big fans of the York Leisure Centre since it opened: the swimming pools are great (main pool, learner pool and toddler splash area) and it’s the only place in the city to do clip’n’climb. The cafe is now open, and there’s even a branch of Explore York libraries so you can borrow a book while you’re there. Parking is free, and you’re close to all the shops, cafes and entertainment at Vangarde if you need to pick up some food, buy a pair of socks or have a hankering to go bowling or watch a movie!
