Short on time but feeling festive? If you've got a box of puff pastry in the fridge, this is so easy and looks like you've made more effort than you have.
- 1 packet of puff pastry
- A few tablespoons of tomato sauce of your choice (eg. a tomato and basil pasta sauce/passata)
- Cheese of your choice, grated (we used cheddar)
- Any other toppings you like
- Drizzle of olive oil (optional)
1. Pre-heat the oven to 180 fan.
2. Roll out the pastry and then cut out a Christmas tree shape. If you like, use cookie cutters to make other shapes from the pastry with your leftover pastry (we cut out a few pastry stars).
3. Lightly prick the pastry randomly with a fork to stop it from puffing up when it cooks.
4. Stick the little shapes to the tree if you're adding them.
5. Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce on the tree.
6. Cover in grated cheese and add your other toppings. Drizzle with a little olive oil, if you like.
7. Put in the oven and cook for around 18 minutes, or until golden.
8. Allow to cool a little on the tray before eating.
