This delicious recipe is taken from Elizabeth Moxon’s English Housewifry, published in 1741, and was given to us by York Mansion House. One of the first recipe books published outside of London, it contains over 450 recipes, as well as instructions on how to set the perfect table and display your delightful creations. This recipe is for chocolate cream, a Georgian favourite that would have been served to the Lords and Ladies who feasted at the Mansion House with the Lord Mayor.
