Rebuild the Railway in LEGO® at the National Railway Museum at February Half Term

railway museum york february half term

Head to the National Railway Museum during February half term and rebuild the railway in LEGO®! This completely free event is perfect for LEGO® fans big and small. See magnificent railway layouts, follow the minifigure trail and add to the museum’s very own railway bricks layout.

Railway Bricks | 14 – 15 February

We will be hosting our first Railway Bricks exhibition in collaboration with the creative L-Gauge UK Railway team. Come and see rail in a new (mini) dimension, in 10 of their biggest and best railway-themed layouts made entirely from LEGO® bricks, each set out in amongst the full-size engines across both Great Hall and Station Hall.

Minifigure Hunt

Locate all the minifigure train conductors who have hidden themselves across each of our railway-themed layouts and unscramble their secret message. Once you have the answer, hand in your trail sheet to be in with a chance to win your own LEGO® set!

Brick-tastic Tracks with Bricks McGee | 19 – 22 February

Take part in our free Brick-tastic Tracks workshop where you can let your imagination run wild and create wagons and engineering structures to add to our railway made of LEGO® bricks.

Delivered by Bricks McGee, the workshops will run at the following times:

  • 10.30 – 11.30
  • 12.00 – 13.00
  • 14.00 – 15.00
  • 15.30 – 16.30

Please note the advised age for the session is 5 years plus, and spaces are limited. Simply book your workshop ticket on arrival at the museum. Visit the Railway Museum website to book your free museum admission.
