Head to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for a magical summer full of fairy-tale fun and pirate adventure across the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR). From 19th July to 31st August, ride the rails and discover crafts, theatre, outdoor games, and competitions across all the stations. Inspired by the playful Pickering Pixie Trail and linking to the Whitby Pirate Festival, enjoy days out full of imagination, adventure and discovery.
🧚🏻♂️ Pixies (Saturday 19th July to Friday 8th August)
Step into a world of fairy-tale fun with Pixie Olympics, wand-making, den building, and a magical theatre show, A Midsummer Night’s Mischief. Dress up, snap selfies, and leave a wish at the Positivi-tree.
Saturday 19th July – Celebrate the start of the Pixie adventures and come along dressed in your best Pixie outfit, take a selfie, tag us on social media and be in with a chance of a family ticket. There’ll also be FREE Face Painting taking place on the day at Pickering Station.
Sunday 20th July – Experience outdoor theatre ‘A Midsummer Night’s Mischief’ brought to you by Hoglets Theatre, taking place at Levisham Station. £8 per ticket for a 45-minute performance at 12.30, 1.45 and 3.00. Make a day of it and take advantage of advance booking discounts and enjoy a trip on the train.
Pixie Arts – Mondays at Pickering Station and Thursdays at Goathland Station, from 11am to 2pm. Get involved in a different craft each week, from pixie potions and wand making to flower crowns.
Every day – Leap into the magic of the Pixie Olympics at Levisham Station and enjoy the self-led outdoor games. Share your positive thoughts on the Wishing Tree at Grosmont Station and leave behind good vibes for all to see.

Get stuck into treasure hunts and pirate crafts, and enjoy The Sleep Pirates – a piratey performance about flying ships and shooting stars.
