Kids Dig York 2024 – Easter archaeology sessions for children

Kids Dig York

Do you know a budding archaeologist? Do impromptu excavations take place in your back garden? Good news: Kids Dig York returns this Easter! Kids Dig York is a project aimed at children aged between 8 and 12. Sessions are led by professional archaeologists from York Archaeology (the people behind JORVIK Viking Centre, DIG and City Walls Experience) and will run twice daily from Monday March 25th to April 6th. During each 3-hour session, children, accompanied by parents/guardians, will get hands-on experience of real archaeological fieldwork in a trench at our excavation at Willow House, just within the City Walls near Walmgate Bar. Finds so far have ranged from Roman to Victorian, so you never know what you might uncover!

Dates: Monday March 25th to Saturday April 6th 2024

Times: 9.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 4.30 pm.

Prices: From £65 for 1 adult and 1 child. Up to six kids per session.

Places on the sessions must be pre-booked, as interest is expected to be very high.  Sessions are currently open for bookings from Monday 25 March to Saturday 6 April and can be booked via the York Archaeology website: https://community.yorkarchaeology.co.uk/events/kids-dig-york-2024/
