We will also have tickets available on the day of the event for £2pp and Loki books will be available while stocks last.
Embark on The Great Rune Hunt!

Calling all Loki fans and treasure hunters! Get ready for The Great Rune Hunt – a free, interactive adventure trail running across seven fantastic locations in York. This event celebrates the release of the newest book in Louie Stowell’s beloved Loki series and promises an exciting quest for adventurers of all ages.
Participants visit a selection of local venues, all within walking distance for young adventurers. At each location, you’ll find runes. Write down the rune letters as you explore the venues, and they will spell a special word—complete the trail to discover it!
All participants will get a pencil and a sticker for joining in as well as an activity sheet to help with the trail and including bonus challenges to make the most of the fun!
Meet the Vikings at JORVIK Viking Centre

Travel back in time this Easter and meet our Vikings. Starting on our glass floor you’ll be introduced to the history of Viking-age York and the dig that took place under your very feet. Next, hop on our ride and take a trip through a reconstruction of Jorvik and see what life was really like for its residents. Finally see artefacts up close, visit our Viking house and chat to our Vikings for even more information.
Dig, dig, dig at DIG: An Archaeological Adventure

DIG is a hands-on archaeological adventure giving kids the chance to become trainee ‘diggers’ and discover the most exciting artefacts from 2000 years of York’s history!
With four special indoor excavation pits, all based on real-life digs in the city and filled with replica Roman, Viking, medieval and Victorian finds, children can grab a trowel and explore how people lived in these times. Your experience will also include a talk from an archaeologist and getting up close to real archaeological artefacts! DIG is a great experience for ages 5-12, with a fun play area for under 5s.
Step back in time at Barley Hall

Step back in time and discover this Hidden Gem of York! Barley Hall is a medieval townhouse that has been restored to its former glory after being rediscovered in the 1980’s.
You’ll also find Beasts at Barley Hall which tells the stories of animals in medieval life, from domestic pets (and pests) and livestock to lions, bears and even dragons, using artefacts found in and around the city of York.
This exhibition includes hands-on activities for children, accessible interpretation boards, audio stories and much more.
This is a promotional feature in partnership with our friends at York Archaeology
