
Echoes of Yorkshire: The Museum Illuminated at York Museum Gardens
If you’re looking for a truly unique family experience this October half term, Echoes of Yorkshire: The Museum Illuminated is one to add to your list. For ten nights only, York Museum Gardens will be transformed by the internationally renowned creative team Luxmuralis into a breathtaking open-air light and sound installation, bringing history to life in the most magical way.
Running from Friday 24th October to Sunday 2nd November 2025 (6pm–8.20pm), this after-dark spectacle invites families to explore the gardens and the story of the Yorkshire Museum through immersive projections, music and colour. Kids will love wandering through the glowing gardens while discovering moments from Yorkshire’s fascinating past – from dinosaurs to Romans, Vikings to Victorians – all through dazzling contemporary light displays.
