Christmas Tree Festival to the York Minster crib service. The Christmas Tree Festival runs from 3rd December 2022 to 5th January 2023, with 60 trees on display in the stunning Nave, Chapter House and Lady Chapel. Explore the trees, which will be decorated to individual themes by local businesses, schools and charities, before adding your own Christmas message to a tag on the festival’s prayer trees.

We’re really excited that Little Vikings is dressing a tree for the first time, and our theme is a celebration of family-friendly York. Many of our partners – the most family-friendly places around York, from the Railway Museum to the JORVIK Viking Centre and The Wizard Walk of York – are joining us in creating a tree that shows how amazing York is for kids. Don’t miss it. Entry is included with general admission, and don’t forget that York residents and under 16s get free admission to York Minster.
