York Christmas Market 2021 – St Nicholas Fair
The hugely popular St Nicholas Fair returns in 2021, a Christmas experience that will produce magical memories that you’ll never forget. The best way to start your Christmas is with a stroll along Parliament Street and St Sampson’s square where wintry alpine chalets run up the street and around the square. Each chalet is stocked with unique products with everything from stocking fillers and extra special gifts, to delicious tasty treats. Enjoy a bite to eat or sip on some warming mulled wine in the cheery, buzzing atmosphere. Thor’s Tipi is a great place to warm up with a hot chocolate or something stronger, too.
Slip through to the historic Shambles Market, home to a wide range of local indie traders selling everything from Yorkshire flat caps to delicious cakes to incredible hand-crafted trinkets. Don’t miss the Shambles Food Court either, where there’s a range of street food on offer (we’re big fans of Krep Truck, serving tasty filled crepes and galettes, and The Dark Horse Espresso which makes some of the best coffee in York).
Top tips if you’re visiting York Christmas Market with kids: avoid peak times as it can get very busy. Go early or late (we like to go in the evening if we can, for extra excitement) and combine it with a wander around the city to see the lights.
18th November to 23rd December 2021, Sunday to Thursday 10am to 6pm and Friday & Saturday 10am to 8pm
