In association with Yorkshire Butterfly Conservation, the Big Butterfly Count returns to Woldies Lavender and Nature Farm for the third year in a row. As one of Woldies’ five Nature missions, all visitors will be given a ‘butterfly spotter sheet’ and encouraged to take part.
Last year their visitors counted a whopping 2350 butterflies over a four-week period! The count is easy to do: simply count the butterflies you see whilst visiting the farm and record them on your sheet. Hand in the sheet to one of the team when you leave and they’ll do the rest
Help is on hand in their dedicated Butterfly Garden, with information boards on the different types of butterfly you are likely to see. With the lavender and wildflowers in full bloom, you will never be too far from a butterfly or two! Keep an eye on Woldies’ social media channels to see when Yorkshire Butterfly Conservation are visiting the farm too!
