Autumn and Halloween at Castle Howard
Castle Howard has a frighteningly fun autumn and October half term planned for the whole family to enjoy. Pick the perfect pumpkin at the Pumpkin Patch, wrap up warm to watch a Halloween classic at its Outdoor Adventure Cinema, join the Skelves on the Great Pumpkin Adventure at Skelf Island Adventure Playground, bring the children along to a Halloween Storytime and Bath Bomb Workshop hosted by Helena Garcia and complete the Pumpkin Trail inside the House.
Pumpkin Patch (1st – 31st October)
The Castle Howard Garden Centre Pumpkin Patch is back for the fourth year running! Explore the patch and choose your perfect pumpkin. Whether small, medium, or large, there are varying sizes and colours, perfect for carving, decorating and making the most of the spooky season. Entry to the Pumpkin Patch is free. Pumpkin prices vary depending on size.
The Great Pumpkin Adventure with the Skelves (30th October – 3rd November)
The pesky Skelves of Skelf Island Adventure Playground are performing a brand-new play this half term at Castle Howard! Join them on a pumpkin-tastic adventure full of magic and mischief. Watch the show at the Skelf Island Adventure Playground. Included in admission.
Halloween Storytime and Bath Bomb Workshop with Helena Garcia (12th October)
Join Great British Bake Off star Helena Garcia for a reading of her lovely children’s book, ‘My Mummy is a Witch’, a wonderfully witchy story told through the eyes of a little witchling, followed by a crafty and hands-on bath bomb-making workshop for little ones. This lovely Halloween experience will take place in Castle Howard’s historic Grecian Hall, inside the main House. Your ticket includes access to the Gardens, including the award-winning Skelf Island Adventure Playground. Suitable for children aged 4 – 8. Children must be supervised by their grown up.
Pumpkin Trail (8th – 31st October)
Help find a gaggle of pesky pumpkins hiding around the House! Younger visitors and their families are invited to take part in the Pumpkin Trail and spot the hidden pumpkins during their visit.
