Heritage Open Days 2024 – Free entry for all!
Heritage Open Days are back for 2024, with lots of lovely places to explore free of charge. The event takes place from 6th to 15th September, but the dates that you can access the places taking part vary, so check online. There are lots of places to explore near York. Our top picks for kids this year are:
– Beningbrough Hall, Gallery & Gardens – Friday 6th September and Saturday 7th September 10am to 5pm – no booking required
– Nunnington Hall – Friday 13th, Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September – no booking required
– North Yorkshire Moors Railway
– Pickering Station: LNERCA Tour, Station Tour, Carriage & Wagon Coach Tour and Lift Demonstration, Signal Box Demo and Victorian Games, All A-Board Games Night, Wagon Group Talk & Demonstration, Archives Open Day & History Talks.
