Top Secret Half Term Fun at Eden Camp
This February half-term, Eden Camp Modern History Museum presents an exciting Spy-Themed Adventure designed to captivate visitors of all ages. From 17th to 23rd February, guests can participate in interactive spy-themed activities that contribute to the war effort. With everything from craft workshops to code-breaking challenges, budding spies will find plenty to enjoy.
🕵️♀️ Children’s Spy Activities
Spy Trail – Every Day
A museum-wide Code Cracker Trail awaits visitors, complete with a mission pack to guide them through the experience. As they explore the museum, participants must locate hidden clues to uncover who stole the top-secret tank plans and prevent them from falling into the wrong hands. Successful code-crackers will earn a reward from the gift shop. Mission packs can be collected upon arrival at the gate box.
Spy Craft Workshops
Invisible Ink Academy – Wednesday 19th February, 1pm to 2pm
An opportunity to learn the art of writing secret messages using invisible ink and simple ciphers. Participants will create their own coded messages to take home, perfect for aspiring secret agents.
Fingerprint Detectives – Thursday 20th February, 1pm to 2pm
Children will explore forensic science by learning how to collect, analyse, and compare fingerprints. This hands-on experience reveals the uniqueness of fingerprints and how investigators use them to solve crimes. A fascinating activity for curious minds and budding detectives.
Spy Plane Workshop – Friday 21st February, 1pm to 2pm
Eden Camp’s top-secret Arts & Crafts workshop invites participants to design and create their own Spy Plane. Using simple materials, they can craft a peg plane inspired by covert aircraft of the past and customize it with espionage-inspired designs. Once completed, the planes are ready for daring missions. This engaging activity combines creativity with a touch of mystery, making it ideal for young agents and aviation enthusiasts.
