Easter at Castle Howard
Enjoy a fantastic family day out during the Easter holidays at Castle Howard. Take part in the walled Garden Easter Trail for children, celebrate the turn of the seasons in the Gardens and meet baby lambs at Skelf Island. Walled Garden Easter Trail (5th to 27th April 2025)
Help the animal parents find their pesky babies! Badger, deer, owl, fox and their friends have lost their little ones, who have given them the slip in the Walled Garden. Help them reunite by finding each baby’s footprints and taking a rubbing to win a chocolatey prize. Included in House & Gardens and Gardens tickets.
Easter Fun at Skelf Island
The perfect place for young explorers to let off steam, Skelf Island Adventure Playground is open every day. Navigate rope bridges, whizz down slides, discover ingenious treetop nests and don’t forget the zip wire.
Meet the lambs (19th to 21st April 2025)
Meet baby lambs at Skelf Island Adventure Playground, reared by the Clifford family on the Estate. While you’re there, meet the farmer and learn about life on the estate – a lovely springtime experience for the whole family! Included with garden ticket.
Visit the House from 18th April 2025
Castle Howard has been home to the Howard family for more than 300 years. Explore extraordinary architecture and beautiful interiors when you visit the House, including the Great Hall which rises 70 feet into the air.
