
Hello Autumn! at Rowntree Park
Join us for an afternoon celebrating the end of summer! This is a community event held in our wildlife area (free to attend some charges for activities/crafts). There will be:
– LOTS of Apple activities including info on how to identify apples, a tour of the orchard, apple pressing and peeling, apple Olympics, apple trail for families, and apple crafts for kids(see below).
– Foraging walk – A simple introduction to foraging where will we identify plants that can be used in foods and medicines. Suitable for all ages, including families with children.
– Autumnal crafts including corn dolly creations and harvest stars (to be booked in advance – link below)
ALSO apple bag printing and other apple related crafts (drop in) AND storytelling.
– Fruit, veg and seed swap – bring something to trade if you have a surplus.
– There will be the chance to find out about the wildlife area project and try a volunteer ‘have a go circuit’
This event is run by volunteers and the aim is to share the charity’s work and help engage people with their park. The afternoon itself is free to attend but some activities have a small charge and need to be booked in advance such as the foraging walk, corn dolly craft and Harvest Star Workshop.
