The North Yorkshire Moors Railway invites you to four days of diesel-powered excitement at its Annual Diesel Gala this June. Set against the stunning backdrop of the North York Moors, this event combines powerful locomotives with breathtaking scenery for an unforgettable railway experience.
From Thursday 12th to Sunday 15th June 2025, visitors of all ages can enjoy the distinctive rumble and impressive power of classic diesel locomotives as they journey through one of Britain’s most beautiful landscapes.

Your Day on the Rails
A special timetable will operate throughout the gala, with trains running the complete heritage route from Grosmont to Pickering, stopping at Goathland, Newtondale Halt, and Levisham. Please note that no services will run between Grosmont and Whitby during this event.
All tickets offer unlimited hop-on, hop-off travel for the day, allowing you to experience different locomotives and explore stations at your leisure. Multi-day discounts are available for those wanting to make the most of this special event.
