A landmark contemporary art exhibition comes to York this summer, as the Aesthetica Art Prize marks its 20th anniversary with a showcase at York Art Gallery. Shortlisted artists from across the globe present work spanning photography, film, digital media and installation, exploring themes of nature, identity, cultural memory and wellbeing. It’s a thought-provoking show for curious older children and teens, and it’s included in general admission.

The exhibition runs from 17 July to 15 November, with a programme of accompanying talks (see the website for dates as they’re added throughout the run). York Art Gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am-5pm.
