A brand-new street art festival is taking over Acomb this summer, turning this much-loved York neighbourhood into an open-air gallery for a whole weekend.

Acomb Fest runs from 3rd to 5th July 2026 across 15 venues, with four world-class muralists painting live (including SMUG, widely regarded as the world’s best photorealistic muralist), 10 art installations, music, performances and free hands-on workshops on Front Street. Kids can follow a mini-beast trail in Fishponds Wood, catch a community cinema and explore light installations at Holgate Windmill, with free family activities at Acomb Methodist Church throughout.

Most activities are free, with some ticketed sessions at individual venues.
