Colour and Light York 2026 – All you need to know!

Looking for an unforgettable family outing in York in 2026? York’s much-loved Colour & Light event, brought to the city by The York BID, is back and set to dazzle visitors.

Two York landmarks will be illuminated together for the first time, as York Castle Museum and Clifford’s Tower become a huge projection canvas for a free, family-friendly show. Expect dazzling visuals, York’s stories brought to life and a brilliant reason to wrap up and head into the city after dark. It’s set to be one of the highlights of winter.

Running from 4th to 22nd February 2026 (6pm to 9pm), this completely free event is one of our favourites of the year.
