Enjoy an adventurous day out at Beningbrough this May half term

Beningbrough

Open every day for half term, 25th May to 2nd June, free to National Trust members and under-fives

Enjoy an adventurous day out at Beningbrough this half term holiday. Explore the gardens and get involved with the Feathered friends trail or take part in a family craft activity (available on selected days). There’s space to play on the south lawn, trees to climb and fish to spot, or head to the wilderness play area and den zone. For a longer walk the parkland has three different lengths of walk from 30 minutes to 2 hours and parking is free at the hall.

Feathered Friends trail, Saturday 25 May – Sunday 2 June

Beningbrough

Grab your trail sheet and follow the winding route around the gardens and see if you can find the hidden birds. Collect your trail sheet from the welcome team and start your bird-spotting exploration. Discover more about different feathered friends along the way.

Get creative in the gardens, Tuesday 28 May & Thursday 30 May, 11am – 3pm

Feeling crafty? Come along and get creative this half-term, create your own feathered friend to take home with you. Drop in at any time and take your turn to make your own bird-inspired creation.

Wilderness play area – open daily

Check out the wilderness play area or spend time in the den zone and build your own hideaway. Clamber on the stacks, cross the rope bridge to the slides and choose from one of the swings – the pendulum is perfect for the more adventurous. The youngest family members haven’t been left, out with tunnels, balance beams and a play house to get their imagination going. There’s a mini clamber stack for smaller legs and accessible bucket seats in swing spots.

Visiting the Hall

Beningbrough

We can’t guarantee sunshine, so if it rains, head indoors to the Hall. Discover the stories of the country house and the people who have shaped its history. Little ones can spot the faces in the carvings and count animals in the tapestries.

Dogs are welcome in most areas of the garden, but please keep them out of the play area for everyone’s enjoyment. This is a promotional feature in partnership with The National Trust. Photos © National Trust Images / Annapurna Mellor & John Millar.
