Family Fun at York Army Museum this Half-Term

March on down to York Army for some half-term fun including hands on object-handling, family trails and crafts.  Budding gamers can team up with parents and carers to tackle the museum’s much-loved Tank Arcade game and aim for the top score.

Would-be artists can grab a copy of Kids in Museum’s Art School in a Trail and complete a series of mini-missions to discover more about the artworks in the museum.

History hunters can view Object Journeys a temporary exhibition in partnership with the British Museum telling the story of the Asante Ewer – an extremely rare medieval jug which has seldom been displayed outside of London.

Tickets are valid for a year, and there’s a 25% reduction on admissions with a Little Vikings Card.

And if you’re looking for something extra special, try one of the museum’s new Twilight Tours on 4 & 18 February! Step into the museum after dark. Join a Twilight Tour and explore key objects from the collection in a dramatic, low-light setting. With only the display cases illuminated, these 30 minute guided tours offer a rare and atmospheric way to experience history. It’s a perfect activity alongside a visit to the Colour & Light show at the nearby Clifford’s Tower. These tours are free but places are limited, so booking is essential. Suitable for ages 10+. Here’s the booking link.
