York BID Rugby Ball Hunt!
To celebrate the countdown to the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025, York BID is inviting families and rugby fans to take part in the York Rugby Ball Hunt, a one-day event packed with sporty surprises.
From 11am on Thursday 14th August, 100 rugby balls will be hidden around York city centre. Keep your eyes peeled for 10 extra-special replica balls, each one representing a team that will be playing in York during the tournament. The best bit? If you find one, you get to keep it!
But the fun doesn’t end there. Parliament Street will be at the heart of the celebrations, with free face painting, appearances from special guests and live demonstrations from local rugby clubs. Every ball will have a QR code linking to match schedules and all the key details about York’s role in the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025. And if you bring your ball back to the Parliament Street hub, you can enter a prize draw to win official tickets to one of the York matches.
Organised by York BID and funded by the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025, this is more than just a game, it’s about raising excitement, getting the community involved and making sure everyone in York has the chance to be part of this once-in-a-generation sporting moment. So lace up your trainers, rally your teammates and get ready to hunt for rugby treasure in the heart of York!
