This autumn, York Art Gallery hosts two major contemporary art exhibitions from Aesthetica:

• – Aesthetica Art Prize 2025 – Showcasing work from 25 shortlisted artists across the globe, exploring urgent themes like identity, migration, ecology and technology.
• – Future Tense: Art in the Age of Transformation – Immersive large-scale installations by alumni artists Liz West (Our Spectral Vision) and Squidsoup (Submergence), transforming the gallery with light, sound and colour.

Together, these exhibitions invite visitors to step into a world of bold ideas and sensory encounters, cementing York’s role as a UNESCO City of Media Arts.
