YorNight, run by the University of York, is an annual showcase that demonstrates that research is fun, diverse and impacts our daily lives. It has a packed programme of child-friendly activities and is bound to inspire. This year’s event takes place at York Barbican on Saturday 8th February 2020 from 2pm to 7.30pm. Drop-in for an hour or stay for more.
Take a journey around the world in a mock aircraft, try a bug flapjack or unleash your creativity on a graffiti wall. With FREE hands-on activities, demonstrations, games, puzzles, bite-size talks, science cabaret acts and more, YorNight offers a chance to explore the fascinating world of research. Come along and discover the wonders of space inside an inflatable planetarium, find out what your skeleton can reveal about you or have a go at a smartphone memory game. The afternoon will be structured as follows:
Hands-on activities – 2pm to 6pm
Bite-size talks – 2.30pm to 6pm
Science cabaret – 6pm to 7.30pm
Presented by the University of York, YorNight is suitable for all ages.
