It’s spring, so it must be time for York’s annual Springboard Festival, a weekend of performing arts created by and for young people. The programme’s packed full of fun and interesting stuff, but it’s these two (free!) events for children that will appeal to the city’s little Vikings.
Paper Planes and Daisy Chains – Saturday 29th March – 10am – 41 Monkgate, York – Free but arrive early as places are limited
Paper Planes and Daisy Chains is a multi-sensory interactive company making fun theatre for 5-11 year olds, promoting healthy lifestyle and positive body image. Join the artistic directors for their highly energetic and highly creative session, especially designed for Springboard.
Hoglets Workshop – Sunday 30th March – 12 noon – 41 Monkgate, York – Free but arrive early as places are limited
Go on a Gruffalo hunt! A drama and storytelling workshop for pre-school children, babies and their parents. Come with Hoglets as they take an adventurous gang of little folks through the Deep Dark Wood! The hunt begins with a performance of The Gruffalo by Mama Hoglet herself, followed by games, songs and craft as well as advice on the methods used, and how parents can take them home and make them their own.
