Put those horned helmets away and crack out your Roman garb – the first Eboracum Roman Festival hits York this summer, with loads for families to enjoy. Based in the Museum Gardens between June 1st and 5th, there’ll be fight displays and children’s army drills from members of six Roman legions, a Roman camp showing domestic Roman life and stalls selling themed goods.
Camera phones at the ready: over 50 Romans will march through the streets of York on the Saturday and Sunday mornings. What’s more, the Yorkshire Museum will be running various activities and workshops including two events with bestselling children’s author Caroline Lawrence.
