Marble runs, crafts and more! Play in York Museum Gardens this half term and help shape the future

York Museum Gardens picnic

We’ve often thought that York city centre needs more play areas for children, so we’re really pleased that York Museums Trust are considering just that for York Museum Gardens. How amazing would that be? And this October half term, you’re all invited down to the Gardens to explore, play and let your imagination run wild with some fun, free activities from giant marble runs to crafting. It’s taking place between Wednesday October 27th and Saturday October 30th 2021 (11 am to 3 pm) on the Pavilion Lawn. Some of the activities will be under cover in case of bad weather.

York Museums Trust hopes that the workshops will inspire York families to share their thoughts on what playing they would like to do in the Gardens in the future. Head along, have some fun and don’t be shy when it comes to sharing your ideas for how the play area could look (although a zip wire running from the top of the abbey ruins is unlikely, as much as our kids would like one).

Wednesday October 27th and Saturday October 30th 2021 (11 am to 3 pm) – York Museum Gardens, Museum St, York YO1 7FR
