If you’ve walked down Gillygate recently, you might have spotted a new arrival. The York Makery is York’s newest craft store and it’s gorgeous. As well as offering a huge array of classes and selling vital craft supplies to feed York’s creative side, it’s also the perfect place for a birthday party.
There are a variety of craft sessions available for your birthday boy or girl, all of which can be personalised to their hobbies and interests. You will have exclusive use of the modern, bright workshop space within the shop, and party goers will be guided through the chosen craft to produce a unique product to take home and enjoy.
Craft ideas for kids’ parties include
– Silk Clay Modelling (theme of your choice!)
– Metal Stamping
– Bunting Necklaces
– Lino cutting and printing
– Simple machine sewing
– Fabric pictures
– Needle felting
– Sock puppets
Prices range from £12 to £16 per head, and parties usually last for between 1 and 2 hours, depending on the craft. The minimum party number of partygoers is 4 with a maximum of 12. Parents are welcome to bring a cake or snacks to serve during the party if they wish, and if the weather is nice, the party can move outside to the beautiful Minster view garden.
PS – The York Makery is offering Little Vikings readers a 10% discount on their birthday parties in our summer issue. Just mention Little Vikings when you book!
