York Ice Trail: This weekend!

York Ice Trail is the biggest outdoor ice trail in the UK, and it’s one of our favourite weekends of the year. It’s back again on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th December, it’s free to enjoy and it promises to be even better than ever.

So what can you expect? Among the 45 icy figures, there’s something for everyone. Our eldest will make a beeline for Lego Batman in Walmgate, while our cat-mad girls will want to spot Garfield outside the Cat Gallery. I’m looking forward to seeing Castle Howard’s cheeky cherub in honour of their Angels on High theme (read our review here) in Low Petergate, and there are many others too, dotted around the city centre and just beyond. Little explorers can collect a free York Ice Trail explorer badge from the Visit York Information Centre when they collect their map to walk the trail.

We’d highly recommend picking up a map so you can make sure you don’t miss anything, but in the meantime here is the full list of designs, their sponsors and where to find them.
