We can’t be the only family to find themselves a bit stuck since York’s central library closed for refurbishment what feels like a century ago. It was a regular part of our trips into town – a good place to stop for a read and a rest with the kids after a run around the Museum Gardens or yet another gander at the dinosaurs at the Yorkshire Museum. Well, the good news is that York Explore Library (as it’s now officially known) reopened on 5th January 2015, bigger and better than before. The children’s section has been expanded and the cafe is bigger, too. It’s good to have it back.
