It’s November, which means we can officially talk about Christmas! York’s Christmas celebrations for 2019 kick off on Thursday 14th November with a switch-on ceremony in Duncombe Place (note the move from St Helen’s Square).
Timings & what to expect
As always, Minster FM and BBC Radio York will be there with Christmas tunes, giveaways and festive banter. There’ll be live music as well as magical lights and projections on York Minster. The event starts at 6pm and the lights will be switched on at 7pm. If it’s anything like previous years, it will be a lovely, family-friendly event to get you in the mood. Top tips: get there early, expect crowds (so think twice about taking a buggy if you have little children) and wrap up warm!
