If you thought the National Centre for Early Music was just for grown-ups, think again. This brilliant place, housed in a Walmgate church with underfoor heating no less, has a programme of family friendly concerts and there are some great ones coming up.
We love the sound of The Chimpanzees of Happy Town which comes to the NCEM on Sunday 26 March at 11.30am and 1.30pm. The much-loved story of Chutney the Chimp will be brought to life through brilliant live music and colourfully projected illustrations, presented by narrator Polly Ives and Ensemble 360. It promises to be full of songs and actions so that everyone can join in. Worried you won’t know the words? Fear not! You can learn the songs and have fun in advance with free videos and downloads at tinyurl.com/chimpsmitr!
